Personal Organization

Written by Asha Dukkipati

One major issue I had during my adolescence  was a lack of organization, which caused me to lose and forget assignments, added to my procrastination, and increased

my stress. By implementing the organizational habits below, I reduced my anxiety levels, saw a tremendous improvement in my grades in school, and was able to partake in more activities.

Notebook and Pen

Notes

  1. I have spiral notebook for every class

  2. Each notebook has a specific color

  3. Each notebook is sectioned by unit with a covered page

  4. The title of each page is based on the topic covered in class that day or the title of a powerpoint or video.

  5. I have subheadings on each page base on subtopics

  6. Sub topics are underlined in the same color as the notebook

  7. All vocabulary words are highlighted in one color

  8. All significant information is highlighted in one color

  9. All formulas are highlighted in one color

Assignment Organization

  1. I have a binder for every class

  2. Each binder's color matches the notebook used for that specific class

  3. Each binder is organized using dividers and they are labeled by unit

  4. I organize my projects and papers using google drive

  5. Every subject has a folder and each folder has more folders embedded in it

  6. I also have a folder, which I keep my homework and handouts in until I can file them away.

  7. I use a one folder to hold my homework, grades, and handouts for each class.

  8. The homework is one the right side and the grades and handouts are located on the left.

  9. Every Friday, I organize these assignments in its designated binder.
